In 2022 MassHousing is offering 10% of a home’s purchase price, up to $50,000, in down payment assistance to homeowners purchasing a home in Boston and 28 additional “gateway” communities. These communities include the City of Boston and the following mid-size cities: Attleboro, Barnstable, Brockton, Chelsea, Chicopee, Everett, Fall River, Fitchburg, Framingham, Haverhill, Holyoke, Lawrence, Leominster, Lowell, Lynn, Malden, Methuen, New Bedford, Peabody, Pittsfield, Quincy, Randolph, Revere, Salem, Springfield, Taunton, Westfield, and Worcester.

If you are looking outside of these communities, you may be eligible for down payment assistance of up to 10% of the purchase price up to $30,000.
