Will buyers swipe right on your home?

Looking for a few laughs? Check out the website Terrible Real Estate Agent Photos . This website definitely raises lots of questions for me: 1. Do some people really live like this? 2. Why didn’t they tidy/clean before trying to sell their home? and 3. What was their real estate agent thinking?

Today’s home buyer is obsessively searching for homes online and making somewhat snap decisions based on what they see online. It is more critical than ever for the photos of your property to give a buyer a reason to look deeper and choose to learn more before moving onto to the next home. This is why professional photography is part of my real estate marketing strategy regardless of a home’s price point.

In addition to discussing the plan to prepare a home for the market, a seller should ask their agent how the home will be marketed to the public. Ask if professional photography a part of their strategyand if this their plan includes video, floor plans or 3D walkthroughs.

Does professional photography make that much of a difference? After all the cameras in today’s smartphones are pretty great! Let’s compare a couple of room photos side-by-side from one of my recently sold properties:

These are the same rooms and taken pretty close to the same angles but the differences are easy to see. The professional photographer knows how to capture a room from the best angle. The photographer has the lenses, lighting and camera equipment necessary to show the entire room and they can even show what is outside the windows! The professional photo makes the room look brighter, cleaner, more inviting and highlights the room’s best features!

More than ever, It is true that a picture is worth a thousand words.
